California-based moving company, Meathead Movers that helps families affected by domestic violence to move out of dangerous situations and that too free of charge, is now inspiring other businesses around the world to help people in need. Meathead Movers has initiated a campaign called, #MoveToEndDV and with its help the moving company has already convinced 42 businesses to support the noble cause.

There are so many great pledges. Our initial goal is 100 businesses. I personally would like to see thousands. – Aaron Steed, Meathead Movers co-founder.

It’s been around 18 years that the company is in the business, but it gained international attention only in the beginning of September for its work. Inspired by the praise received, Meathead Movers decided to get other businesses involved; so it created a hashtag for its campaign and set up a pledge page. Using social media, Meathead Movers has appealed other businesses to pledge to support its local domestic violence prevention shelters in whatever way they can, whether that’s with time, money, products, or services.

We also have several businesses who are offering their services for free to the actual shelters, so that the shelters’ limited budgets can be maximized to help victims. These pledges can make life feel more normal for a moment, even happy, in a time that is often scary and difficult, said Aaron Steed.

In just four simple steps on its website, Meathead Movers described small businesses, how they can help local domestic violence shelters and organizations, and then share their pledge using the #MoveToEndDV. Moving companies, local shelters, a yoga studio and a plumbing company are among the other businesses that have joined the campaign.
